Happy New Year! As we welcome 2025, it is my pleasure to present the first issue of the year for NexBioHealth, setting the stage for a year of innovation, progress, and meaningful connections in the world of medicine and healthcare.

Starting with this issue, each edition will feature a central theme, complemented by a rich collection of articles designed to inform, engage, and inspire. Our theme for this issue is International Medical Graduates (IMGs). IMGs are not only instrumental in addressing the growing physician shortage in the U.S. but also contribute immeasurably to the global advancement of medicine and healthcare. They bring diversity, innovation, and cultural competence to patient care, enriching the profession in countless ways.

It is a privilege to feature Dr. Joe Greer, a visionary leader of Cuban descent, as the esteemed figure on this issue’s cover. Dr. Greer, an IMG himself, has dedicated his career to advancing health equity, education, and patient care. His latest endeavor, establishing a new medical school, reflects his commitment to creating opportunities and addressing critical healthcare challenges. His story is one of leadership, resilience, and inspiration, and it is an honor to highlight his extraordinary journey.

In our Medical Journey section, we are proud to feature Dr. Thiruvengadam Muniraj, whose remarkable path from India to the United States exemplifies the resilience and determination of IMGs. Now a leader in advanced and bariatric endoscopy at Yale, Dr. Muniraj’s story is a testament to the global impact of dedicated physicians.

The Medical Reports section highlights three compelling articles: perspectives on interventional cardiology, an in-depth look at community health, and practical insights into remote patient monitoring (RPM), an increasingly essential tool for modern practitioners. Additionally, our Student Hub section continues to grow, enriched by new perspectives and contributions from the next generation of medical professionals, fostering a vibrant community for aspiring physicians and healthcare leaders.

Our editorial board is expanding with new members who are internationally renowned leaders in their fields and exceptional mentors for students and physicians of all ages. This growth underscores our commitment to fostering a diverse and dynamic environment that bridges experience with innovation, enriching the content and vision of NexBioHealth.

We hope you enjoy this edition of NexBioHealth and find value in the stories and insights it brings. Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to sharing many more themes and stories with you in the year ahead.
